I was in Blacksburg from 1990-1994. I don't recall being closed for snow,

BUT we had a doozy of an ice storm in '94 that pretty much shut down the entire NRV for the better part of a week. There was no heat off campus and the water treatment plant was compromised, so you couldn't use the water without boiling it first. It was a mess. I spent several nights camped out on the couch at the AKPsi House cuz we had a fireplace there and kept that room warm, anyway.

Walking anywhere on campus or downtown was treacherous. You either slip on the ice or have ice fall out of a tree or off a building onto you. Or both. Really was a heck of a storm. And not a flake of snow in it.
