Like I said in my post, Alabama or any other school that
claims a national champion in DI football can do it because someone (i.e. the AP, UPI, Coaches, etc.) recognized them as champion in a final poll. The "SELECTING ORGANIZATION" on the hyperlink is/are the organization(s) that is considered to be the main recognizing body/bodies and does not include "minor national championships." The link below includes "minor national championships," FWIW the Colley Matrix (CM) recognized UCF as its champion for the 2017 season.
