WVU has dealt with injuries all season. Tynice Martin did not play a game due to a foot injury. Guard Anja Martin (no relation) missed the entire season following hip surgery. Forward Krystaline McCune missed the 2017 season with a knee injury and played five games in 2018. Forward Kristina King, a starter who averages 9.6 points and 7.2 rebounds, missed five games with a foot injury.
The Mountaineers didn't have too many major or notable wins on the season. The Mountaineers went into College Station, Texas, and beat No. 18 Texas A&M 70-56 in the seventh game. That was part of a 13-0 start, when WVU was ranked No. 9. But the Mountaineers also lost to Baylor and Texas both times those two faced off in the regular season.
