Served years ago in a robbery case in Santa Monica, CA and found the

guy guilty. Then, after the trial was over, the judge informed us of another guy being held that more met the description of the robber, but wasn't allowed to tell us on the jury. Turns out the other guy was most likely the perp as his fingerprints were all over the box used as a B'day present being delivered to the people he robbed as a way into the house and the guy we found guilty had no fingerprints on the box. The maid in the case eye witnessed the guy we found guilty and that was what we went on. I was so irate and down about the guilty verdict when it was most likely the other guy, I used that as a means to get off the next case I was called for. When the defense asked if anyone had a reason not to be on the jury, I raised my hand and was called to the bench to offer my reason. The judge covered the mike as I told him why. Both sides agreed to dismiss me. Now I have a permanent dismissal from jury duty. (age related)
