Mine lasted right at 25 years


Not sure if, or how much, manufacturing quality changed over that time. But back then, they were made to last. I did have to replace one of the internal bladders after about 15 years, but that was $100ish, which beats the heck out of replacing the mattress.

The whole reason I bought it was they offered a 90 day in-home trial. While now, that is relatively normal for online mattress sales, it was unheard of then. I just struggled with spending that much money on something I couldn't actually sleep on first. These days, the mattress industry finally understands that concept, but back then they didn't.

I had low back pain by the age of 20, but it virtually vanished when I got the Select Comfort.

When it finally died, I couldn't quite get up the nerve to spend $2500. Spent $900 on a Purple instead.

There are times I wish I had just gotten another Select Comfort.
