I feel like although Buzz has done better his first years here...

We will never see anything close to the success that Bennett has achieved. #1 in the country is just uncanny for us in terms of college basketball, let alone getting ranked. In fact, I think that'll be our ceiling with Buzz before he leaves. We'll get ranked maybe up to #15 in the country, maybe even get to the sweet 16 one year, But the Hoos have a coach that has resolved the issues of his first years at UVA, and look at where its taken them. I love Buzz, probably my favorite basketball coach of all time, but it seems that some of these issues haven't changed over from Marquette to Tech. Like recruiting small ball and halftime adjustments.

Our year was saved by a lot of improvisations by our star players and for that I think our big wins were nothing short of miracles (that doesn't mean we didn't deserve those wins, but who could really counts on NAW to hit a 3 with 16 seconds left in the UVA game, a 93% free throw shooter missing his 1 and 1, AND THEN Blackshear getting the put back lay up next possession? OR even better, Ty Jerome missing two sure-fire threes at the buzzer to seal a win against us?)

Or a missed call where KBJ held Duke's star player in Wendell Carter from getting the board off the missed Duval free throw, AND THEN NAW air-balling a shot for CC to put back up and in?

A lot of this year's big wins were on luck, and I really don't know how much we can really attribute that to coaching. However, the adjustment to play slower in the UVA game was definitely a smart Buzz Williams pregame adjustment. That's the one game I can point to and say Buzz really did an excellent job coaching (just needed the luck at the very end).
