As for Beamer, he was forced to make changes and right the ship under fear of termination, so it wasn't all rainbows and unicorns for him at that time. The AD, the admin, and the fans patience were running thin. He succeeded in turning it around, all to his credit.

As for Williams, he's made great strides in four years taking VT from the pits to being a mid level P5 and ACC program that is somewhat inconsistent but capable of playing at a high level, at times. IMO he needs to tackle the inconsistency so that the high level performances become more common place and the program elevates to being an above average, upper third ACC contender that is a semi-regular top 25 team.
There is no "or else what" from me because that isn't my purview. I'm just opining what i see as the next steps to be taken to advance the program to what many expect.
