Why does OU have interest in the PAC when Texas clearly doesn't?

Texas didn't go through with the PAC expansion plan a while back because it didn't want to deal with travel to the west coast. I would think that having had the opportunity to witness how problematic travel is for WVU in the Big 12, and hearing PAC football coaches complain about having to play so many night games when the rest of America isn't watching, Texas would only feel more opposed to the PAC.

I know Boren was more interested in the PAC than some others, but I wonder if a change of leadership at OU will make a difference.
