I agree that this is a good thing to try because it's cheap...


...and is good maintenance anyway. But, wouldn't a problem with flow through the MAF cause the PCM to adjust fuel trim accordingly? It seems like the issue would be downstream of the MAF, where un-measured air is getting drawn into the system such that the PCM does not see it, and thus throwing the fuel trims off. And if the MAF was clogged up and causing problems, wouldn't that be more likely to cause a rich condition rather than lean?

What am I missing?
