No, it's about the safety of children. Remember the DC snipers?


The biggest freak-out was when they were shooting kids near schools.

I was in security at that time, and I spoke to many architects about the new things to consider in school design after that.

As an example, think of a bus loop that a car-bomber can drive through. Usually there are doors that run straight down the halls. A better way is to put an angle near the doors, so that there will not be a direct blast down the hall.

It's really an interesting field. I pulled many military manuals off the web before they suddenly disappeared. Lots of good info from Isreal too (with their safe rooms)
