I read that book, for a History class my freshman year at VT.


The professor (Linda something? I don't remember the last name) opened up the first day welcoming any member of "Accuracy in Academia" to her class.

I enjoyed the class. She started off telling us that for our first 12 years of school, we had been taught one version / one side. This would give us the other side. In her core, she probably was more aligned with the Zinn version...but she never said "this is right, forget what you learned before" or anything like that.

In fact, as she was returning graded papers to the class, there was one guy I knew in class who was very much at the opposite end of her politically. She handed him back his paper, and made a quick comment as she did saying "I don't agree with pretty much anything you wrote, but it was well written and you defended it well" and he had an A.
