I had several conversations with a group of people at OU baseball games this weekend. All were OU donors that ranged from the bottom to the Bud Wilkinson society. All but 2 would like to see OU move out of the Big 12. But even those 2 indicated they knew that OU was unlikely stay in the Big 12.

The supporters of OU to the SEC tended to be the on the lower end of the Sooner Club donation scale. The supporters of OU to the Big Ten tended to be on the higher end of the Sooner Club donation scale.... Many of those people are small business owners and are very active in the OU community. Some are in the oil & NG business.

There was a significant agreement with the thoughts with Boren soon gone OU should be seeing major new donations from some of OU oilies that had often been on the sideline. Many seemed to know that under Boren OU had become too bloated.

In the meantime the price of crude has moved above the $70 mark today... which is great news for OU because it seems to be the rumored support price for major new OU donations.

There was not a single person that spoke in favor of OU moving to the PAC…There was general agreement with what one guy said…. if OU moved to the PAC with UT and the others that it would be just more of the same… Nobody I know wants that for OU.
