Ford was identified as a freshman as a guy who was GOING to be a major prospect. Schools had already started fighting over him two years ago. But the fact is that he hasn't really developed much more from that time. I want to make this clear, I still think he is a very good prospect and I really wish we got him (and maybe we still will.... I had to laugh out loud when I saw that one factor that swayed Ford to PSU was that Franklin rotates backs.... kid was sold a bill of goods with that pitch because the data says otherwise plus we have more carries to go 'round).

On the other side of the coin, Steward was not identified early and spent much of his HS career playing behind other guys. He really didn't start coming into his own until he was a JR and didn't break out until he was a SR (and committed already). I'm not saying Steward is a better prospect than Ford (and I really wish we could have both), but I think we're really overlooking a kid we already have.

And I say this as someone who was initially not very high on Steward.
