This is largely why I didn't get the hand-wringing over Elijah Davis
He sounds like a potentially good back and a good kid. But at the end of the day, by signing day we were looking for kids who would UPGRADE the talent we had. We weren't looking for quantity anymore. We have enough backs to carry the ball but we were very much on the lookout for someone who was better than what we have. IMO, Davis's ceiling isn't any higher than the ceiling of several we already have on the roster. In a different year where we needed to ensure we signed a back, he would have gotten an offer (IMO, he would have gotten an offer in C/O 2017 and might have in this coming 2019 class as well... but '18 we were looking solely for potential upgrades).
That said, I hope he knocks it out of the park at ODU. except when they play against VT. [Post edited by VTECHFAN at 05/20/2018 2:19PM]
