First, take it


to Autozone/O'Reilly's/Advance and have them pull the code. Google a bit and see how serious it seems. Something simple like an O2 sensor, shop won't matter much...I usually recommend Poole Brothers in C'burg.

If it seems complicated/bmw-specific: With Peter gone, I'd tell you to drive a bit extra to Tim Maiden in Salem. He's one of the best around. Sportscar clinic in Roanoke would be another option, but not worth driving past Tim.

I used to sell tools all over the area...it's been a few years, but I know the shops pretty well.
