Absolutely it about rivalries

Why do think there’s the big push from Nebraska to get Oklahoma in the Big10. It’s why UMD tried so hard to get under PSU’s skin. It’s why Rutgers was talking about putting up a fence around the garden so Michigan and PSU couldn’t take anymore of their kids. It’s why Charles Woodson just said publicly that Michigan isn’t putting enough emphasis on The Game (OSU). Rivalries are what makes college football great. To Western Michigan and Central Michigan, their game is the highlight of the year. Most couldn’t care less about that game, but to those two schools, it’s their season. The Big10 has lost sight of that.

Taking in Oklahoma and Kansas would do a couple of things for the Big10. Most importantly, it would mean Nebraska/Oklahoma would be renewed on rivalry weekend. It would be great if Nebraska could schedule OCC games with Colorado and relive some of the Big8 traditions.

I’m hoping this scheduling announcement is bringing back the scheduling alliance that was previously set in place between the Big10 and PAC. I was excited about that and the potential games that Could take place.
