Depends on the tax (sales, income, real estate or personal property).


Nevada has personal property tax, for example.

Montana had a flat rate license fee (no sales tax) for registering vehicles, as opposed to others that are based on value.

A million dollar car cost the same to license as a Kia. One could save upwards of $100,000 in taxes alone.

They were working to change that.
