Sham could very well have been a Triple Crown winner, ...


... either the before or the year after. Without Secretariat, Sham would have won the first 2 legs. With 2 legs, under his belt, Sham would have run a very different race in the Belmont.

Lafite Pincay, Jr said his instructions for the Belmont was to stay close to Secretariat at all times. Sham tried, but eventually was run into the ground.
