I have this awesome vine called Queen of the Night. It blooms 1 night a yr

That night is tonight. Selenicereus grandiflorus is a member of the cactus family and it's growing on one of my Grandfather Oak trees.

When we moved to this place four years ago we didn't know what it was, just that it looked like dreadlocks. One night we came home from dinner to find it in full bloom. Since then we've watched closely towards the end of May to mid June as it opens up for it's annual show.

Tomorrow, by day break all these will be wilted and by Friday, they'll all be laying on the ground and I'll have a mess to pick up. Pretty cool though!

It starts off (in late May) looking like a cotton ball growing out of a vine. Then, today, it shows you it's ready to bloom. This was around 6pm tonight.
