I am talking about ....

the reporter McDaniels who is credited with the early tweet. As far as something changing over the past two weeks, without knowing facts/details we will never be able to really understand what happened. I do not consider you arguing, just stating a different perspective. Correct me if I am wrong but, your perspective is that things COULD have changed in the last two weeks that invalidated the accuracy of the original report and, that is certainly a possibility I would not dispute. My position was that if anything COULD change subsequent to the initial report that would change the original conclusion then the original report's definitive statement that he was gone was erroneous and factually inaccurate, a deficiency that could only be cured with some qualifying language. Of course that qualifying language completely changes the tone of the original report. My question, was McDaniels just sloppy in his haste to be first or something worse in making a definitive statement he could not support. I called him an idiot because this was not the first time he had found himself in a situation like this with VT and he did not appear to apply the lessons learned from the earlier situation. Of course, maybe the punishment for his earlier slip was more than offset by his clicks/followers/benefits making the second time a no brainer. That is a valid short term strategy but, in terms of long term credibility, access to sources, etc. I doubt it is a winning proposition.
