Delany is a very savvy business man...


Sure, adding Rutgers and UMCP didn't move the football needle, but Delany understands money, markets and timing. The media market concept for conference expansion is a bubble that grew really fast and is likely to pop, and Delany hit everything in stride and looks like he's maximized profits at the exact right time. If this bubble bursts like I expect it will some day, Delany will have at least made the most money out of this plan than the other conferences. The SEC still may make more money in the end because of their rabid fan bases, but Delany has done well. Hats off to him.
