Yeah, she wasn't going to be part of a revolution, but I also think


the tape that indicated possible elimination of nuclear weapons on both sides was also meant to show an effect on her. That would have appealed to the true whatever it takes idealist/socialist she was - even if it wasn't possible. One of the last people she eliminated was a Russian trying to kill the negotiator of that treaty - because she wouldn't do it.

She also let the young congressional aide that she seduced go, even when he learned what she was doing - that wouldn't have happened in the first couple seasons - he'd have been dead.

I think they tried to soften up her attitude a little the last few shows.
