Gmail help

The latest version of gmail "helps" me by moving items that I either didn't respond to or haven't got a reply from to the top of my inbox - giving me some options to act on it.

Many times I don't want to archive, don't need to respond/reply right then AND just want to keep that item in my inbox sorted the way it was. I see I can snooze it - but that's just an added task for me for those items - I don't want to keep snoozing multiple emails that I talk with my clients face to face about a couple times a week - but I do want the email thread available for documentation when the final answer comes.

Is there any type of one click "acknowledge"? Yeah, I realize there hasn't been action on this item, but there doesn't need to be right now... Just keep it where it was in my inbox sort, until I decide to act on it...
