Good point on wanting to play. IMO, if it's not BdJ, that'd be the reason.

But if he truly is wrapping up his career if next year doesn't work out (someone else said that on here earlier this year, I believe), then to pass up potentially his last time to play in this event seems strange.

If the golf association does make the call, and not SV, presumably all they'd care about is putting out the most competitive team. Even with his poor run of form on the US Tours, he is still by far the best competitive option - the best golfer of that bunch and being used to the big events. A big opportunity to get Zimbabwe golf some solid press to put anyone else out there with SV.

Nash Mauchaza is another guy that seems popular (has gotten in a few US events on sponsor exemptions). He's not on your list but technically is tied for 5th on the OWGR (albiet with no points...). Not sure if that would make him eligible.
