Teenage son playing Fantasy, it’s fun to watch with him.

I haven’t watched much the last 15 years or so. College game is much more exciting to me. But as my son shows more interest, we watch more.

He was upset about the anthem protests and we talked about how the players protesting know and represent a different racial reality than we live. My son goes to a 98% white public school in one of the most conservative counties in the country. He was unaware of what modern racism looks like. After discussing how Kap got the pose from a Marine recommending a protest of reverence, he understood and we moved forward. It was emotional but it was a good discussion, which i think is the point of the protest.

I can understand people being turned off by the protests but just like Nike protests turned into record high stock values for them, there are two sides to these debates. Both are valid.
