I am 61, and have had to deal with that all my life, including growing up near Pittsburgh and especially after I moved to Baton Rouge in 1983.

If others are going to hate ND, might as well make the playoffs as another reason, right?

Why would any ND player, coach, alumni or fan care that conference schools would hate ND more versus the fun/success in making the playoffs?

That would not factor in.

Would any other team want to miss the playoffs just so that other conferences, schools and fans would "like them more"?

(They wouldn't like ND more, anyway)
