Somebody is getting fired..probably a few somebodies.

There are all kinds of safety locks to prevent stuff like that from happening. Even if the tech was playing pilot and touching things, he shouldn't have been able to unsafe and engage the gun while doing maintenance. There are physical lockouts that are supposed to be in place if a weapon is loaded that are removed during the pre-flight checklist.
