I remodeled kitchen in my old house in one month, but

took a week off to work it solid and the wife helped out along the way with stuff as much as she could. Over the course of 16 years, we redid just about everything in the house and are now in the process of selling it after we got it exactly how we liked it. Love the house, but just not where we wanted to be any more.

Bought a house on a lake and have been living in it since August. It is 40 years old and was a rental for the 10 years prior to us buying it and it looks exactly like you would expect. True Fixer-upper. The lot is brilliant though. When the weather is nice after a long day at work, we sit on the deck or head down to the dock, hop in a canoe or kayak and enjoy. When the weather is crap, we fix stuff inside the house. If you make something better every day, then it isn't too bad.
