That older doesn't mean better. Of course it's better to be more experienced than less experienced, especially in college, but that is absolutely no guarantee. The same issues which afflicted us this season (early entries, injuries, suspensions, dismissals, transfers) are apt to pop up next year or any subsequent year. It's nice to hold out for the hope for a more experienced, bigger, stronger, faster team in subsequent years, but there's no certainty it will come to fruition. Michigan State led the country in returning starters this year with 22. They are 5-3, which is disappointing coming off their 10-3 season last year.

I can't speak for others, but I suppose part of my frustration with our start is what I thought was going to be the rejuvenated recruiting from the Fuente regime. As @MontgomeryTexasHokie noted, we're to the point where most of these players are these guys. Granted, they are younger, but I was hoping for an uptick in performance at this point from our incoming players. It seems no different to date. Maybe 2019 or 2020 will be different.
