You are right the gap between the P5s and FCS is widening because of the money involved. However, the gap between the G5s and FCS is getting closer. Especially when you consider that Conference USA has basically become the Sun Belt 2.0 and the Sun Belt is now the CAA/Southern 2.0 (both are FCS conferences). Since the G5s do weigh the P5s down and both are members of the FBS, he may be right that the gap between the 2 subdivisions is narrowing even if only slightly.
