If Marshall were to receive a bid from the AAC

then do you think it would be due to the AAC expanding beyond 12 or as a replacement for a former member. The interesting thing about the AAC is that Navy currently competes in the West Division. If Navy were to return to an Independent status, then I would think the AAC would want a "western" school instead of switching Cincy to the West Division.

From that perspective, I would think that either North Texas, LA Tech, maybe UT-San Antonio, or maybe So. Miss would be more ideal candidates. Assuming the AAC wanted to pluck from C-USA. Also, I don't think the AAC is in a position to switch to a North-South alignment. Given that the AAC goes from CT and FL to OK and TX, I do wonder if the AAC will be able to endure that large footprint. If there is a split, then would it be a north-south or east-west split? Could the split also involve C-USA or maybe the MAC? For example the AAC could essentially become a northern conference. While C-USA became a southern conference.
