Why give up 130 years of a tradition of football independence


There is not much benefit to ND to do so and some detriment.


Why do it? Why "be like everyone else" when you don't have to do so?

Especially now, with CR, It seems that conferences are just possible temporary business arrangements for TV contract purposes.

What would be the allure for ND to chuck its status, tradition and brand? I don't see it.
