SBJ: American Athletic Conference Considering Grant of Rights


This to position for next media rights deal in 2020. Apparently ESPN is dangling extra money if a GOR is in place. And the AAC is considering uneven payouts with higher share to the best football schools.

This would make it interesting during the mid 2020s when the B1G, Big XII, and PAC12 renegotiate their television deals. ESPN would be protecting its AAC content, and it could make the Big XII more vulnerable. This hasn't happened yet, but someone is leaking this to the media.
