A lot of dead weight in this set up


You have 72 teams in this mix and there might be 50 that do anything in football that means anything.

East - no rejects, but it ain't a pretty bunch either. Only 3 schools worth a damn in football, PSU, WVU and VT

Mid-Atlantic - reject all of them except Tennessee and Clemson

South East - reject UCF and Vandy

Central - Like the East, no rejects but an ugly bunch

South - reject Texas Tech, Baylor, TCU, Miss State and Ole Miss

Mid-West - reject Kansas and ISU

North West - reject Boise St, Colorado St, BYU, Utah

West - reject Stanford, San Diego St, UNLV, Nevada

That deletes 24 of 72 teams and drops a working total down to 48 teams. If you want 8 conferences group them in Sixes. Even among that 48 there is still some dead weight.
