Tech is in the bottom third of P5 schools in revenue, and the big recruiting bases are further away. So we have less money, and we have to recruit further away from campus. Also, there are no diamonds in the rough anymore, because all these kids go to camps, and their tape is all over the internet. There are no secrets anymore. We can't find 2-star James Anderson anymore. These days, 2-star James Anderson would go to 8-10 camps up and down the East Coast and be a 4-star player after he got offers from Florida, Georgia and Clemson.

What made us successful in the 1990s and 2000s aren't applicable anymore. We have to find a different way. If that means more JUCO recruiting, then so be it.
