the number of competition dates that a school is allowed to have in one season. Something like 16 IIRC. In addition to that, scheduling duals on back-to-back days, or multiple in the same day will only count toward 1 "date" instead of 1 per dual. They count it like it's a 2-day tournament. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on that...
