Good news regarding the foster cats. We've been trying to slowly introduce

them to our own cats. The cripple cat and my boy Opie haven't done well. Lots of hissing and growling but nothing more. Christmas Eve they really got into it, to the point where I think if I wasn't here to break it up one of them would be dead. They were beating the shiRt out of each other. I called the wife and told her what happened and told her that this isn't going to work and we have to find someone else to take the fosters, or take them back to the shelter she volunteers at. Amazingly enough, the adoption coordinator contacted my wife that day to say someone had submitted an application for our two fosters.

This lovely young lady with a heart of gold came over yesterday to meet the cats. She specifically wanted senior cats because "Everyone wants kittens and I feel bad that no one ever wants the older cats." The fosters ran and hid immediately, which was not good and led to her saying "Yeah, I dunno... I'll have to think about it." But she hung around for a good 30-40 minutes and in that time both of them came out and put on a hell of a show for her. The cripple cat wouldn't go over to her, but he did hang out in the middle of the room and I was petting him. Once she heard him start purring she want from "I'll have to think about it" to "I'm sold! Can I get them on Tuesday?" Gonna miss the fella, he was awesome, but it's time to let our cats have the house back.
