If the faculty at UNC want to offer sham courses, that's up to them.


I do think that SACS failed as an accrediting body.

The NCAA is not interfering with VT's decision to admit Nolley. It's simply controlling his eligibility to compete in events with NCAA member institutions. VT is free to allow him to compete, but then there would be ramifications for other athletes.
