Something similar happened to me with American Graffiti....


When it first came out in ‘73, I was 15 and it should have been right in my wheelhouse. But we were on vacation when it was playing in our town, so I missed it. The second time it came through the theaters, our movie house had a roof leak and was closed. So I didn’t see it until the mid-80s and by then it had been so hyped up, I was like... meh...
