True... likely because he's an EXCELLENT LBs coach
And while a pretty good DC, Alabama already had a better one on staff. At that point, Alabama was the Alabama we all know and "love" (versus the still building program it was when Steele left). And after the Orange Bowl disaster, he didn't have a ton of options. So he went back to a familiar spot albeit in a lesser role.
Interesting that he later ended up as a DC at Auburn. I think our fans would FLIP if we ever hired a failed coordinator from UVA.
