She appears to have regressed, but there may be a reason.


IMHO, Rachel has been played out of position her entire career at VT. This would include Dennis Wolff. Rachel played center in HS. She rebounds beyond her physicals. She would rather drive to the hole than shoot 3s. This started under Wolff, and under Wolff, her minutes were way down (go figure, it was Dennis). Yet, last year, when Hicks left, Rachel answered the call, and led them into the NIT. She did a remarkable job, despite playing out of position, and playing point, which is not best suited for point.
I think Rachel has been an unsung hero of the program, and has been successful despite her misuse by her coaches. Kenny has been trying to "hide" Kendyl, thus how she plays (spot up 3-pt shooter from the corner). Rachel should be playing a wing, where she can rebound, drive to the hold, play defense on players who play wing (not point guards who can out quick her).
