Agreed.I think Buzz is a good recruiter/evaluator but not a good roster mgr

We are recruiting at a higher level than before and Buzz has definitely upped the overall talent level in the program. But in NFL draft terms, he tends to go after the "best player available" pretty much every time, rather than recruiting for need. And when that best available guy goes somewhere else, we are caught short-handed because we have not developed relationships with guys we could have won battles for. Next year's class is another example. If we don't land Wahab, there is no legit plan B and we will again be one of the shortest teams in our conference, if not in D1.

In general, I think our program needs to develop more of a relationship pipeline with 3* guys who are 6'8" or taller, as opposed to repeatedly targeting 4* guards and swingmen. We need some beef, even if it's at the end of the bench. Positionless basketball is cool, but if you haven't noticed the positionless guys are getting taller and taller. Yes, we miss Nolley and Clarke, but name me another ACC team where either of those guys (or Horne, or Outlaw) would be seen as a legitimate backup option at the 5. Heck, most teams wouldn't even play them at the 4.
