Buzz got major props on SiriusXM ACC Central on manipulating the NET at EOG

last night.

The NCAA's NET overall formulas have not yet been released at this time, so there's people trying to figure out what metrics matter and which ones will make a difference in the rankings.

Buzz noted in his postgame how some have theorized that teams that win by 10 are rewarded more with that margin than just a win.

In the same manner, teams that lose by more than 10 are hurt by it more than just having a loss.

So Buzz called that final TO with 0:19 down by 11 and had his team still play hard to get the last Outlaw 3 to put the game under 10 points at 8, and then didn't foul Louisville again (to put them at the line and risk them getting a double digit win.

As Mark Packer noted on the show this AM, he didn't think he could have more respect for Buzz than he already did, and that Buzz is a genius.

But for Buzz and the staff having the thoughts and plan at the end to call a TO (which some may not know why - including Pack) to keep the margin within a number to help VT down the road overall (who knows by how much?) showed that Buzz is always thinking 6 moves ahead of everyone else.

Mark noted it was pure genius for Buzz and "his analytic people" to be all over this!

Most coaches would be thinking to just end the game and get it over with, but Buzz was strong to be still coaching and working to better his team's position by using the mysterious NET to his advantage.

Loved hearing this today after our overmatched loss last night with JRob being out.
