Unfortunately David played in an offense in high school that didn't allow him to line up more than 2 or 3 yards off the ball. Nearly every carry was a quick hand off to hit a predetermined hole location. If he had been playing in a traditional offense and lined up deeper in the backfield he would have had a lot more experience about reading the blocks in front of him.

His "vision" was very good once in the hole and looking for cuts to get going and as pointed out he learned to power through and create after contact.

Just think he would have been even better if he had the opportunity to play in high school in a different system.
