Ajax is fun to watch. Despite winning last year's CL, Madrid was in decline

last year. They relied on grit and experience to win the title last year in a fairly level competition amongst the elite clubs.

De Ligt and de Jong will be amongst the best at their position over the next decade. De Jong has the versatility now to play anywhere in the midfield and serve as an emergency CB. They have several other quality youngsters who will be plucked by wealthier European clubs.

Madrid willed their way to a CL title last year, ironically, against their toughest matchups over the last five years. Domestically, they were a mess especially earlier in the year. Zidane knew the club was aging at RCB, LB, both deep-lying CMs, and striker. He left the club knowing a major rebuild must occur. Bale and Benz haven't stepped up. Asensio needs more time to realize his potential. It's still crazy to think that Isco can't find a spot on the bench. Modric and Kroos look tired given their age and club/country demands over the past couple years.
