Thanks HF

EJ says hello (he called me as I was responding to your post)

I got to chat with DMF at the social for a couple min, nothing insightful, just general stuff. What I was struck is how big he is. He's tall and has a bit of a lanky frame, but as Bstreet says he has a fair amount of "right mass" up top... I dare say the kid could drop and do 100 push ups in a min. I won't claim to vividly recall every match last year at 165, but it seemed to me if he got to someone leg, much more often than not he was going to get the TD. This year, it's more of a struggle for him to secure those... bigger guys with stronger legs at 174. My question with all that is do we think it's purely a strength difference at 174, or was he getting away with having a strength advantage at 165 and needs to adjust his technique a little.

I was never a good wrestler in high school and that was 30+ years ago, so I won't claim to have any good answers / advice... just enjoy the sport, the Hokies (and Davidson), and doing stuff with the little guy while he still likes me :-)
