I've been saying this for months

2018 was Fu's mulligan. It usually happens in year one or two of a coaching change, but all of VT was punch drunk over how "well the transition went" - and it did go well overall. However, there are always some lingering issues, some of which came to light in 2018 and some other issues which were just bad luck.

IMHO next year is like this: (with half games used to allow for a little wiggle room depending on who the wins/losses are against and how good/bad they are)

6.5 wins - Fu is required to make changes and ultimatum is issued for 2020.
7.5 wins - Stern talking to, needs to get better, fall back from here and it will be ugly.
8.5 wins - This is the floor at VT - Improve from here.
9.5+ wins - Carry on, show us your plan for CFP....

I know some scoff at giving Fu another year if 2019 is less than 7, 8 or some even say 9+ wins. I look at what the alternative is, based on what VT can afford. Larger buyout, rumored bball coach change costs, etc. I think Fu gets 2020 regardless, but it all rides on that.
