Agreed, I'm glad you said this


He seems genuinely sincere about wanting to be a part of Hokie Nation, in the shadow mind you (a bit) of Bill Roth. It can't be lost on folks how Roth is still asked to emcee certain Hokie events (Laaser is too but not always), still has a bit of a presence in sports coverage surrounding VT. I don't begrudge Roth for doing what he's good at. Laaser probably didn't get a fully fair shake when he first came on b/c we were all comparing him to Roth.

Laze comes across as really caring about having this job, really blessed to be a part of it. His writings in the monthly magazine and posts on Twitter come across very heartfelt. Laaser responds to emails, he'll speak to you if you approach him. Roth at the same stage of his career was not that - much larger ego.

And I think Laaser is really good! You can tell he prepares a ton and he has chemistry with Burnop, and that's not just automatic, that's a credit to both of them.
