Watching in person is expensive and you can't follow it as well as you can


watching it on a big screen with replays and everything. If what I'm interested in is the all-22 view, then sure, in person is better. But otherwise, it costs a lot of money, I can't see as well, and it's kind of a PITA that takes all day.

For me, the reason to go is the social experience of everyone being pumped for a big game. Or it's something to do on a Saturday, which is why I went to games at my FCS alma mater, but they were free. I noticed, though, that at the end of the season I actually knew very little about who was who on the team, and I didn't remember the games as well as ones I had watched on TV. Commentators can be annoying but they do help. I ought to bring a radio to games, but I usually forget.
