One of my favorite places in all of Hampton Roads

The big draw for me of that park is the trails. I walked them so many times as a kid, and ran them so many times for cross country and track practice, that I pretty much have them memorized. The Long Creek trail along Linkhorn Bay is my favorite - it has a hill a couple miles in that gives a spectacular view. Never camped at the park and never spent much time on the beach side, but since it's the Bay the waves are low key and the vibe is more local. There are some cabins on the south side of Shore Dr. that are pretty comfy.
